So, bevor Ihr gleich alle mit den Augen rollt, nehme ich Euch gleich den Wind aus den Segeln: Ja, ich bin ein Stadtkind!!

Nicht, dass ich die Natur nicht zu schaetzen weiss. Ich fand die letzten Tage am See, als es mir dann auch wieder besser ging, wirklich, wirklich schoen. Ich wuerde auch jedem empfehlen, mal einen Abstecher zum Baikal See zu machen. Aber zurueck in der Zivilisation ist es doch eine der schoensten Sachen, unter einer warmen Dusche zu stehen, sich dick einzuseifen und wieder nach chemischen Blumenbouquets zu duften. Das ist einfach HERRLICH!!! Ich steh darauf!

Und hier in der Stadt kann man schliesslich auch schoene Sachen erleben. Wie zum Beispiel die Begegnung mit unserer Gewuerzhaendlerin. Diese Frau hat auf dem Markt einen Stand, der ca. 1x1x1 m gross ist (kein Witz!).

Und man bekommt bei ihr trotz des geringen Platzes so gut wie alles, was man zum kochen benoetigt. Da wir uns von Essen zu essen hangeln, waren wir nun schon ein paar mal bei ihr um so exotische Sachen wie Salz, Pfeffer und Bruehwuerfel zu kaufen. Die Gute musste wohl schon denken, dass wir unter Mangelernaehrung leiden und hat uns prompt ein Kakao aehnliches Pulver geschenkt und Konrad ein Rezept dazu diktiert. Demnach ist das Pulver eine getrocknete und gemahlene Beere, die nur hier in Sibirien vorkommt, und zusammen mit Mehl, Milch Eiern, Zucker und Soda zu einem Kuchen verarbeitet werden kann. Da wir derzeit sozusagen ein Appartement in Irkutsk allein bewohnen, habe ich die Gunst der Stunde auch direkt genutzt um wieder in der Kueche zu wueten und dieses Rezept auszuprobieren.

Das Ergebnis:

Ein Art sibirischer Beeren-Brownie mit einem Topping aus dicker Sahne mit Zucker. Der Geschmack ist unbeschreiblich, weil halt Beere nur in Sibirien und deshalb noch nie ausprobiert, aber wirklich lecker.

Bueno, antes de pensarlo vosotros, lo voy a decir yo: Me gusta vivir en la ciudad!!!!

No es, que no sepa disfrutar estar en el campo. Los ultimos dias en el lago Baikal, tambien los disfrute mucho. Pero regresados en la civilizacion, no hay cosa mejor, que tomar una ducha bien caliente, usar montones de jabon y volver a oler a flores y otros aromas sympaticos. Es MAGNIFICO y me encanta!

Y sobre todo, tamieb hay que nombrar, que en la ciudad tambien se pueden vivir cosas muy interesantes. Por ejemplo la señora de especies en el mercado. Tiene un pequeño compartatamento como 1x1x1 metros (de verdad…no es mas grade!), pero alli encuentras todo, lo que se necesita para cocinar.

Y como nosotros por ahora, solo planeamos de comida a comida, ya le hemos comprado varias vezes… cosas exoticas como sal, pimienta y avecrem. La pobre seguro que ya penso, que estamos desnutrizados, y nos regalo un polvo parecido a cacao, que resulta ser un grano, que solo lo hay aqui en Sibiria, seco y molido. Y nos dio una receta para hacer un pastel aumentando leche, azucar, harina y huevos. Y como por ahora estamos viviendo solitos en un apartamento en Irkutsk, yo ya estuve otra vez trabajando en la cocina haciendo ese pastel.

El resultado:

Un tipo de brownie siberico con nata montada. El sabor no se puede describir, porque como dicho es de un grano siberico, que hasta hoy no he probado, pero esta muy, muy rico.

OK, bevor you start rolling your eyes, I will say it by myself: I love to life in a city!

It’s not as I couldn’t apprechiate the nature and all that stuff. The last days at the Baikal sea were great as I was feeling better. But I also think, that there is nothing better in the world, than beeing back in civilisation and taking a warm shower, using lots and lots of soap and smelling again like a bouquet.  It’s just wonderfull and I really like that!

Besides, there are also funny things to experience in the city. For example our spice-lady. This woman has a a little shop at the market that is about 1x1x1 meters…no joke!

And even if there is so little space, you can get there everything for cooking. By now we are just planning from meal to meal, so that we have already been there serveral times buying so exotic things  like salt, pepper and bouillon cubes. She already had to think that we are suffering malnutrition and donated us a powder that looked like cacao and by the way also gave us a recipe to make a cake out of it.

The result:

A kind of siberian brownie with a topping of cream and sugar. The taste is indescribable, as the berries, the powder is made of, are only growing in siberia. But it really tasted verry good.
